This Could Come In Handy...!

This might just come in handy for someone that needs to get out of Dodge in a hurry, even if you don't have a trailer!

Just imagine, if you had one of these for your car, truck, or SUV...you could have a good way to shelter yourself and your family in short order!

Stands 5 ft. 6 in. inside when set up, can be set up and taken down quickly, and if completely taken down and stored in it's bag...weighs only 11 pounds. But the real beauty is, it can be taken almost all the way down, left in the bed with stuff on top of it just in case you needed to move in a hurry!

No more looking for level ground to set up. No more worry about finding a dry spot if it's raining. Cheaper than a camper or shell, but still portable and dry!

Not a perfect solution, but just another possibility, ya know? The more we know, the more choices we have...the better! Don't you agree?

This is called the Adventure Truck Tent...and I like it!

Now, my friends, let's get some coffee and sit outside for a bit! We can discuss all the possibilities we have, for now!

Great for something with a new truck! That is a great idea.

Enjoy your coffee.

That would be great for sleeping out at the beach, would help keep sand out of the tent at least (shaking sand off before getting in). Thanks HermitJim!

Oh, my guy will have a fit over that! I'll have to show it to him when he gets home today! Thanks HermitJim...enjoy that morning coffee, still on my first cup here and the back porch is calling me.

Hey Kris...
Could make for a pretty good back up shelter, don't ya think?

Hey, you have a good day, my friend!

Hey Anon 7:38...
I t5hink you're right! Sure puts you up and out of the way of creepy-crawlies as well!

Seems like the support of the truck sides would offer enough support to help keep it from getting blown over!

Certainly something to think about!

Thanks for the visit this morning!

Hey Missy...
Good to see you this morning! I don't blame him at all! I think in many ways that this is a pretty cool thing to have!

Hey, thanks for coming over today, Missy!

Morning Jim;

I've seen these before. I think at one time or maybe still one of the big three offered a tent just for their truck.

I think it's a good idea if one had to bug out with just a truck.

Thanks for sharing.

See Ya

Jim, Ive seen many versions of that including one that goes on the roof too.

Its compact and wont keep you from driving where you need to go. But need to find a space that is hidden from view because when you are on your way outta town last thing you need is someone noticing someone with supplies sleep at nite. When the SHTF most important is to stay away from others who managed to get out of the city but were less prepared.

Good Morning My Special One, these are great and I have seen them before and the one that sits up higher. It sure beats being on the ground.
Running around already this morning. Think its time to sit and have one last cup with you on the patio.

I remember seeing something similar, Mister Hermit, sir, for Jeeps some years back. Clever stuff.

Hey Tony...
That's what I was thinking. We could carry it just like our BOB and have it...just in case! Just another option!

I know that Ford does carry a line of truck tents and bed covers, but only for the newer models.

Hey, thanks for the visit today, my friend!

Hey OGT...
That's the big secret to survival in a worse case scenario...keeping a very low profile! Trust very few, and always watch your back!

There is an old German saying "Be more, seem less!"

Thanks for the visit today, buddy!

Hey JoJo...
Good to have you here for a cup...but then, my day isn't complete until you show up!

Thanks for coming over, dear one.

Hey K...
Got the pictures of the big baseball game! Pretty good! Glad you all had a good visit!

I know that the nephew was pleased with the trip!

Thanks for coming by today, Lady!

What an incredible idea! For $250, it sure gives you a lot of versatility.

Along the lines of the comment by OGT, I am concerned with the yellow rain fly. A dark color would be more to my liking. I didn't notice that as an option, though.

Hi Uncle Hermit,

It seems like a pretty good idea to me. :D

I'm on my last cup of coffee here, gotta head out to work in a few.

Have a great day!

Oh yeah, Uncle Hermit, thank you so much for your very kind compliment on my blog post on Monday. :D

Hey Chief Instructor...
As far as the color of the rain fly, why not take some camo netting and jusy cover the whole thing? Seems like that would solve the problem...and the netting is easy to find and could be used for other things as well!

Hey, I really appreciate you coming by today and thanks for the comments!

Hey Felinae...
Well, let's don't let you run out of coffee, that's for sure!

The comments on your post were my pleasure, My Lady!

You don't work too har, and thanks for coming by today!

You have a good one, Jim!

Hey Cath...
That probably would be a good start...getting a truck, then getting the truck tent!

Of course, the tent will store easily if you go the other way around!

Thanks, my friend, for stopping by!

Interesting idea. I would go for a taller camper top. Plenty of space to sleep under and no worries about the rain or snow.
