Father's Day Tribute...!

My Father has been gone for many years now, but his memory stays with me every day.

To celebrate this holiday, I've skipped the regular cartoons and put up a song that pretty much says everything I would say about my Dad!

I do hope you enjoyed the song, and I hope you will take the time to tell your Dad "Happy Father's Day!" Even if he isn't around anymore, he'll still hear it!

I miss my Dad! Even though I can never fill his shoes, he always fills my heart!

Coffee on the patio this morning! Happy Father's Day, everyone!

Know what you mean, Mr. Hermit - I my miss my Dad,too. My heart still aches even after all these years. I miss his wisdom and his laughter. But most of all, I miss not being able to share my life with him. Thanks for posting the song! I'll bring the crumb cake - it was Dad's favorite!

Hey Gorges...
I always did like ol' Marty's voice. Seemed appropriate somehow!

Thanks for coming over this morning!

Hey Phyllis...
Being able to share with him is just one of the things I miss.

Good man, good friend!

Thanks for coming over this morning!

Happy Father's Day one and all. My wife and kids took me to my favorite seafood restaurant last night - fried fish, shrimp, salad and baked potato - YUM! Tonight, going to Mom's for a HEB roasted chicken dinner and sides - I'm a happy camper!

I miss my Dad too, he passed away in 1997 a from sudden heart attack, I hope I'm half the Dad to my kids that he was with me and my brother.

Sounds like the family is treating you right this Father's Day! That's a good thing, my friend!

Just a little triva In 1957, Maine Senator Margaret Chase Smith wrote a proposal accusing Congress of ignoring fathers for 40 years while honoring mothers, thus "[singling] out just one of our two parents". In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day Six years later, the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.
In addition to Father's Day, International Men's Day is celebrated in many countries on November 19 for men and boys who are not fathers.
